November Lodge

November Lodge is located at the Cuyahoga Valley Environmental Educational Center in Peninsula, Ohio. Dedicated in 1999, this 6,600-square-foot building for campers included an all-purpose space with a kitchen, a computer laboratory, a library and an art studio. The building's design and construction incorporate important environmental sustainable practices such as site selection, building orientation, and landscaping. Recycling of construction materials is another important aspect of the building construction. Structural framing in the multi-purpose room utilizes timbers from demolished structures. Energy conservation practices are applied throughout the building, including window location, geothermal energy for heating and cooling, and lighting.
